Weight Loss: The Real Secret Weapon

Weight Loss: The Real Secret Weapon

OK guys,

I’ve been mentioning this new accountability and motivational tool for the last few weeks as I have prepped this.

So make sure you read this WHOLE post then watch the video I linked to it and THEN write me back to acknowledge you have read this!

So those of you who are reading this for the first time or who have not been to class much lately, or who maybe who have yet to start my program are not likely going to know what I am talking about.

So here is the deal….

I have come up with the ULTIMATE SECRET WEAPON to helping you with your fitness and fat loss goals.

Picture4It’s NOT a Pill, It’s NOT a diet,

It’s really quite simple….

For some of you this is not new.

For some of you this is no big deal.

For others it may be a real chore, but either way I have discovered that what people really want from me is ACCOUNTABILITY. And that is EXACTLY what I am offering!

So from now on I am going to ask that all members of my fitness boot camp start keeping a daily exercise and nutrition journal: and this is quite honestly the BEST secret weapon the fitness industry has to offer you!

That’s RIGHT!.

A daily exercise and nutrition journal can DOUBLE a person’s weight loss according to a study from Kaiser Permanente’s Center for Health Research.

The findings, from one of the largest and longest running weight loss maintenance trials ever conducted, was published in the August issue of the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.

You can purchase your journal and watch a short video by clicking this link.

"The more food records people kept, the more weight they lost," said lead author Jack Hollis Ph.D., a researcher at Kaiser Permanente’s Center for Health Research in Portland, Oregon. "Those who kept daily food records lost twice as much weight as those who kept no records.”

“It seems that the simple act of writing down what you eat encourages people to consume fewer calories."

After six months, the average weight loss among the nearly 1,700 participants was approximately 13 pounds. More than two-thirds of the participants (69 percent) lost at least nine pounds, enough to reduce their health risks and qualify for the second phase of the study, which lasted 30 months and tested strategies for maintaining the weight loss.

"More than two-thirds of Americans are overweight or obese. If we all lost just nine pounds, like the majority of people in this study did, our nation would see vast decreases in hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes, heart disease and stroke,"

said study co-author Victor Stevens, Ph.D., a Kaiser Permanente researcher.

For example, in an earlier study Stevens found that losing as little as five pounds can reduce the risk of developing high blood pressure by 20 percent.

The Kaiser Permanente Care Management Institute’s Weight Management Initiative has recommended maintaining an exercise and nutrition journal as a strategy for losing weight since 2002. The Weight Management Initiative unites clinicians, researchers, insurers, and policymakers to identify practical, effective, non-surgical approaches for the prevention and treatment of overweight and obesity.

"Every day I hear patients say they can’t lose weight. This study shows that most people can lose weight if they have the right tools and support. And food journaling in conjunction with a weight management program or class is the ideal combination of tools and support," says Keith Bachman, MD, a Weight Management Initiative member.

So here is the deal guys….I am taking this VERY seriously!

This is not going to be a request, it is going to be MANDATORY.

In fact this new policy is going to be a permanent part of our boot camp program starting July 5th when the new classes start as well as my new Flat Belly Program.

You will be required to show up to the class WITH journal in hand and prepare to show that you have tracked your food intake for the day.

Forget the journal at home? Picture3

Plan to do push-ups!

Didn’t write in the journal?

Plan to do push-ups!

Show up late?

Plan to do push-ups!

Now you guys know me…I am no drill sergeant and I don’t yell or scream. I know that for most people working out just sort of sucks. So I try my best to make the workouts fun and motivating in a positive way.

So you may ask yourself, why is he doing this?

It’s simple really, and I will be totally honest with you.

Part of this is for selfish reasons.

You see, I want to have the leanest, sexiest, most fit clients in town, because I know….that those who follow this protocol and track what they eat are just simply going to get the best results around. And you know what that means to me? It means I get MORE referrals and MORE business!

Them there is just the facts!

So if you are going to train with me….you have GOT to track!
